A little direction.

You are the small winged eye. Five strange machines are asleep on each page. Collect ink-dark seeds called loose thoughts, then sing the machines awake.

Drift
WASD / arrow keys, or hold and drag on the drawing. On touchscreens, use the thumbstick.
Gather
Pass close to the little floating seeds. Carry three at a time. The compass points to the nearest sleeping machine.
Awaken
Bring three thoughts close to a machine. Hold Space or the SING button until its ring fills. This spends the three thoughts.
Explore
Shift gives a quick surge. Dark ink tangles scatter one thought; they cannot end your journey. Wake all five to open a door to the next page. Nearby creatures are drawn to your song.
Meet things
Hold Space / SING near any creature or drawing to add its family to the curiosity cabinet. Great wandering wonders answer with five loose thoughts. Press B for the cabinet and the unruliness slider.
Take it easy
Just wander removes ink tangles and the cost of awakening. No timers, no scoring pressure. Esc / P pauses; mouse wheel changes the view.
